With every New Year there are new beginnings. Many people want to learn how to play the guitar and make it a New Year’s resolution only to give it up in a few months or even weeks. Although so many have the best intentions, ambition and desire, they find the learning process can be frustrating. It can be the result of not understanding the learning process, feeling like you don’t have enough time or thinking that your progress is too slow. You have to understand that learning any instrument involves physical and mental aptitude and takes time to develop.
The best way to make it past the frustration is to have realistic expectations. You need to know and understand what you want to do, take into consideration your priorities and be prepared to change your goals if things don’t go the way you planned. Rather than quitting, allow yourself a long term perspective, let the learning experience be practical and fun so you can achieve your goal.
