Combining Sixteenth Notes

Rests and the five most common divisions - This video is very important as it will explain and demonstrate the use of the rest and the five most common divisions of the beat before you combine them. Watch video.                                                           

The following rhythms use combinations of the five most common divisions of the beat with sixteenth and eight rests.

This rhythm uses an eighth note with two sixteenth notes on the first and third beats and groups of four sixteenth notes with a sixteenth rest on the second and fourth beats. Watch video.

 

This rhythm uses two sixteenth and an eighth note on the first and third beats and groups of four sixteenth notes with a sixteenth rest on the second and fourth beats. Watch video.
